Here we goooo
Somehow I always seem to conform to the social media touchstones; but I feel like for the first time, this one serves a good purpose. I’m definitely not nearly creative enough for this to be some “followable” gem, but I need to do this for quite a few really good reasons:
1.) I’m in Athens with absolutely NO responsibilities now that I’ve graduated. This is a problem of the best kind. I finally get days where its ok to weigh my options before showering and getting out of bed before 2pm; but of course, that means I’m not showering and getting out of bed. After the last year and a half of insane productivity, laying around all day just doesn’t feel right.
2.) I have a degree in Math. I’m pretty sure I can count on one hand how many papers I wrote in college. I don’t think I’m a terrible writer, but I know I haven’t had the practice I need before I go into the real world. Hopefully forcing myself to write even a few times a week will make me more articulate and keep my brain moving through my few weeks of lazy sludge.
3.) There are so many things I want to do in Athens before I leave. I’m pretty proud of myself in that I think I’ve used my time wisely while being here. I’ve experienced a good number of things that I know I could have never done at home and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. But time ran out pretty quickly since being so busy the last 5 quarters and I still need to do some of the Athens “have-to’s” before I leave here for good. I thought blogging about completing my bucketlist would make sure that I get it done :) Here’s what I’ve got in random order:
1.) Kiss in the kissing circle
2.) Go to Hocking Hills
3.) Radar and Bong Hills
4.) Climb the Rock Wall at Ping
5.) Eat Miller’s Chicken
6.) Paint the graffiti wall
7.) Play games at the Fun Barn
8.) Get an Athens Block Brick
9.) See an Indie Film at the Athena
10.) Eat at Jana’s Soul Food
11.) Buy something from Passion Works
12.) Go on a shuffle
13.) Eat at Purple ChopsticksI’m sure I’ll add more as I go through, but these are the things I REALLY want to do before I leave. I’m excited to experience more of Athens and really take advantage of my last chances here! Ready. Set. GO!
